Missing the Boat
Life is full of disappointments. That’s what my dad always told us when we were growing up and experienced an upsetting childhood event. He’d smile and remind us of the adage that “Life is full of disappointments” and we’d immediately realize that we were not alone. That was enough to help us bounce back.
But wait, the topic here is not about disappointments.
Life is full of opportunities. Yes, time moves by and we can either fill that time with…um..writing blog posts, OR we can take on those opportunities that are in front of us.
That doesn’t mean talking about the opportunities, but actually planning how to grab onto them and meet the challenges that they pose. Go out and achieve those goals.
Imagine that job prospect that we hear about. Is there a chance you might be a fit for the job? Then send in your resume, make the call and get that interview.
Imagine you meet a person and you just know you can help him in some way. Reach out, extend yourself to help said individual.
We have so many chances in a day when we can move forward or just…miss the boat.
Let’s not miss the boat. The boat is going to drift away and take all the missed opportunities with it.
So hop on the boat and go for the ride.
And expect some bumps in the water on the way. That’s okay, because as my dad says, “Life is full of………..”
