Recently I’ve been scammed. I’ve taken steps to prevent this from happening again and wrote about it over here.

It’s sometimes hard to say “no,” when we really want to. Our mouth betrays us and we end up saying “yes.”

Here’s a poem I wrote as a parody of one of my favorite childhood books.

Scam you are!

Don’t come near me

You stay far!

I do not like them Scam-they-are

They want to sell

Cheap tickets now…

Yes I like things cheap,

but how?

They want credit card,

stuff that’s hard

Want all info

Say I’ll win-dough!

Free hotel

With kickbacks – swell,

Cheap trips, cruises

Say – don’t be a loser!

I do not like them Scam-they-are!

They ask me, then they start to rail

Would I answer their snail mail?

I will not answer their snail mail,

With that advice, I’ll surely fail!

Would I shoot off instant message?
Or Facebook with my photo/visage?

I will not shoot off instant message,

Never Facebook – don’t steal my visage!

Would I contact them in text?

And then an email? -(that comes next)

No, not a text, not email, I’m vexed!

Not instagram, you’re just a scam!

Will I send them UPS?

Or maybe What’spp or Fed-Ex?

Not UPS, don’t be a pest

No What’sapp, no Fed-Ex

Just give it some bedrest!

A package of cash?

Do it now, don’t delay

You want to make money?

You need to just pay

Not instagram, Not in a text

Not email – or snail mail too

Not in my Facebook – or even the zoo!

Not in a house

Not in a car

Not in a Van

Or bus or a bar!

Not in a scooter, a segue or bike

Not with a bumper car, airplane or kite!

If you will let me be,

I won’t try them,

I won’t touch them all today!

If they ask me for my name

Or tell me that I will get fame

If they ask me for my number

Or tell me that they’ll sell me lumber

I will block them

Stop them

Lock them

Leave me, go away you Scam,

I do not like you – Scammy-Scam!
