Launch of My MIL (mother-in-law) Site
I recently read an article on a noted grandparenting website. The humorous article was basically a MIL-DIL translator:
The article was a list of examples to the effect of: If your MIL says this, she really means this. And if your DIL says that, she really means that. So before hearing what each other has to say, check out this clear translator and you will be able to understand each other.
While I chuckled at the article, I disagreed with its premise. I believe in finding our Center, our tools for growth, and tweaking our own behaviors so that our relationships are smooth and loving.
As someone who has been studying and practicing the art of Bubbyhood, Nanahood, or Grandmahood (my apologies to the other nationalities that I didn’t include!), I have had a side hobby of fine-tuning (love those musical metaphors) the mother-in-law (or MIL) role.
My book, this bubby/grandmother blog that you are reading, and other endeavors have eventually evolved into a new pastime – sharing information on my new site — motherinlawhood101.com or milhood101.com for short.
So go ahead and check out my new site – where you will subscribe to my email list, and receive information to add to your chest of tools to help you as a MIL.
Let’s do away with the stereotypical (or real) MIL jokes. Let’s focus on positive interactions with our adult children. See you over there!

Congrats! I admire that you’re doing two blogs at once. Look forward to your advice! I wish my father had been given advice (not that he’d have listened!)– he still finds so much to nag about.

Nah Lisa! Those who nag? They will never benefit from my tools!
Haha. But seriously I hope any mom in law who is feeling pain
and frustration and wanting to change things will reach out and
subscribe (fill out a free form) over at my site. Only those who
sign up will receive information. Thanks for your good wishes.
I’m looking forward to this new venture. 🙂

Wow! Amen to that!
Thanks Rivki for your encouragement
and good wishes.
